DJs, label managers and promoters were asked by the Guardian to describe their favorite places to party in mainland Europe. They came up with a list of 25 top clubs of which one is located in Greece.

Here’s the list:

Greece’s ownn Casablanca Soul in Santorini – Casablanca soul has been pioneering underground music on the volcanic island since the early Eighties. It’s a musical landmark on the island and its response to party island Mykonos. The club is about the music, the people and vibe but only holds 120 patrons, meaning that its tight.

Fluxus Ministerija Lithuania – An old shoe factory that feels like a squat party for 10,000 people. Weird art installations and AV projections through various rooms, including a tower that is atop a massive stairway where strange goings on happen, such as poetry seances. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Berghain Panorama Bar in Berlin – Dubbed Berlin’s temple of techno it is perhaps the foremost institution in electronic music in the world. No phones are allowed in the club and DJs need to commit their programs in advance to ensure that they deliver something special. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

OHM in Berlin – The club, formerly known as Shift, is located in the battery room of a derelict power plant and is becoming one of Berlin’s off-grid spaces with minimum white-tiled decor and powerful sound system. An added bonus is that it is cheap! CLICK HERE TO VISIT 

20/44 in Belgrade – The club is on a boat moored on the Sava river. Summer parties are held upstairs on the outside deck. The name of the club is based on Belgrade’s coo-ordinates. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Auslage in Vienna – The club is simple with a cheap door price, decent drinks, a capacity to hold 300 and consistent quality line ups. One room is for house and another for techno. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Air, Amsterdam – Just off Rembrandt Square, thousands of people flock here for the Amsterdam Dance Event each year. The Void sound system is nicely heard from all corners of the dance room. Each of the three rooms make patrons feel like their in three clubs in one. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

The Villa in Oslo – The place to go for underground tech house and techno. The place is a “secret” from the outside with a mysterious side door and head down to the basement that stretches beneath a couple of buildings. The club holds 600 people. It has a low ceiling creating an intense atmosphere and pushing people close together so that sweat literally drips off the ceiling. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Kaffibarinn at Reykjavik – Warm and cosy during the week and crazy on weekends as people cram into a tiny space to dance the night away. Wednesday nights have cheap wine and free cheese. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Badaboum in Paris – the club was once La Scene Bastille, a concert hall. Each room has its own ambience with some areas providing a space for a conversation to give a break from the large music. The club also has a secret room for more clandestine encounters. The finest techno and underground music from around the world are played here. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Yoyo in Paris – Both concerts and DJ sets are played at this hall, under the Palais de Tokyo for contemporary art. Once a French movie theater, the large balcony overhead is reminiscent of the club’s former function. The club is decorated with urban decoration and graffiti that givesit an underground feeling. Concrete in Paris – On the outside its a huge boat with a top terrace for chilling out, but inside its a techno-rave den. Initially an after-hours party running from Sunday to Monday, it became so popular that it took over entire weekends. The DJ booth is impressive, held in a square with a crowd all around. House rules include no photos, selfies or filming. Sunday mornings at this 24-hour party zone see zombies ending their rave-marathon but the club fills up again by 6 p.m. in the afternoon. 

Cross Club in Prague – A unique and rather strange club in the center of Prague with steampunk influences and an incredible layout of waste metal, wood and recycled ceramics. The sound is great and the patrons know how to dance. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Salon des amateurs in Dusseldorf – The modern art museum cafe by day turns into a forward-thinking nightclub with people dancing to weirdo experimental music and underground stuff. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Kaiku at Helsinki – A big wooden box with a great sound system and a very open-minded crowd who are there for the right reason – a pure love of music.

Propaganda in Moscow – The clubbers arrive early and come for the music. The sound is good and the booker has an experience that spans over 20 years and is the owner of one of the first record stores in the city. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

DC10 in Ibiza – There was heavy pressure from the Guardia Civil to cose this club but it’s still going straight. Patrons enter a dark room and head to the legendary terrace for real freaks. It’s a club where anything goes and is full of underground music. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Elrow in Barcelona – The club is known for partying 24×7 and has a great community vibe. Think Cirque du Soleil, drag queens and confetti… and even if you hate it you’ll still enjoy the decadence of it all here as it is done so well.

CDLC (Carpe Diem Lounge Club) in Barcelona – Sip cocktails by day and enjoy beautiful views of the Mediterranean and party by night as the dining area is transformed into a dance floor. From diners to clubbers the transition is smooth. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Nitsa Club at Barcelona – It is special because of its eclecticism with artists from IDM to techno, from house to electro, from indie pop to drum’n’bass. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Big Bang in Rome – The venue is in a large converted house on a street with medieval-looking warehouses everywhere. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Goa in Rome – The club has a David Lynch feel with oddly framed paintings everywhere. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Lux in Lisbon – The club has an amazing sound system, wooden dancefloors and a big terrace. Video and light installations keep changing. The environment is gay-friendly, slightly posh but open to everyone. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

iBoat at Bordeaux – Located at the basement of a docked boat with a great restaurant upstairs. When it gets packed, people hang out from the rafters. CLICK HERE TO VISIT

Barbarellas Discoteque at Tisno in Croatia – Barbarellas was an indoor club with retro Seventies decor but now its moved and is an outdoor club with legendary after-parties under the stars while watching the sun rise over the Dalmatian coast. CLICK HERE TO VISIT
