PASOK, the junior partner in the coalition government, appears satisfied with the exit polls’ forecasts.
However, party officials prefer not to make any election comments before PASOK issues a formal statement based on official results.
According to reports, the leader of PASOK’s first comment after the announcement of the exit polls’ forecasts was that “the party’s Euro elections strategy of progressive stability seems to have appealed to the party’s social base.”
Late in the afternoon and before the announcement of the exit polls forecasts, Alternate Minister Fofi Genimata asked Evangelos Venizelos to convene a meeting of the party’s political council tomorrow, Monday to assess the election results.
The President of PASOK has accepted this proposal.
