On Wednesday, 18 June, the plenary session of Parliament will debate the three proposals for the establishment of a preliminary investigation committee tabled by ND, PASOK, and the “alliance” of Plevsi Eleftherias, Hellenic Solution, Niki, and the Democracy Movement.
According to the final decisions taken by a majority of the members of the Conference of Presidents of the Parliament, the debate will start at 9 am with the aim of finishing at 9 pm, and then the secret ballot will be held.
It will be recalled that the 3 proposals concern a total of 14 different political persons and 10 offences.
For the vote, 14 ballot boxes will be set up, one for each person proposed for impeachment, and a total of 4,200 ballots will be printed. Each MP will receive 14 different ballots corresponding to separate persons and directed to a different ballot box.
For example, the ballot box numbered “1” will only be used to vote for former Infrastructure and Transport Minister Costas Ach. Karamanlis. The MPs will choose on the ballot paper with the number “1” the proposal of ND, PASOK, the “4” alliance, or all 3 that they consider to contain the most sound reasoning and offences.
It should be noted that the relevant services of the parliament estimate that the process of counting the votes will take about 4 hours.
