A 68-year-old former municipal official from Topiros, Xanthi, was found dead Tuesday night. The man was discovered in a yard with a shotgun wound to the armpit. Emergency services were called and transported him to the General Hospital of Xanthi, where doctors made every effort to save him, but he succumbed to his injuries.

Police were promptly alerted and have launched a full investigation. Authorities are currently gathering evidence to clarify the circumstances surrounding the shooting, keeping all possible motives under consideration.
