Opinion Poll: ND at 29.8% with a 15.9 point lead, PASOK up half a point, Plefsi in 3rd place

Absolute dominance of Mitsotakis in suitability for the prime ministry - One in two wants exhaustion of the four-year term - 88.2% considers the resignations of ministers for OPEKEPE to be imperative

In the latest opinion poll presented on Action 24’s main newscast, New Democracy (ND) holds a commanding lead in the vote estimate, with a 15.9-point advantage. The poll shows ND at 29.8%, marking a slight drop of 0.6 percentage points from May, but still nearly two points above its performance in the European elections.

PASOK records a modest gain of 0.5 points, rising to 13.9% and reclaiming second place. Meanwhile, Plefsi Eleftherias sees a significant drop of 2.3 points, falling to 13.7%.

The full party rankings are as follows:

  • ND: 29.8% (down from 30.4% in May)
  • PASOK: 13.9% (up from 13.4%)
  • Plefsi Eleftherias: 13.7% (down from 16%)
  • Hellenic Solution: 10.5% (up from 9.6%)
  • KKE: 8% (slightly down from 8.2%)
  • SYRIZA: 5.5% (down from 5.8%)
  • MeRA25: 3.3% (up from 2.4%)
  • NIKI: 3.1% (up slightly from 3%)
  • Kasselakis Party: 3.1% (up from 2.9%)
  • Voice of Logic: 2.6% (down from 2.9%)
  • New Left: 1.7% (up from 1.2%)
  • Spartans: 1.2% (unchanged)

Suitability for Prime Minister: Mitsotakis Dominant

In terms of suitability for prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis remains the clear front-runner, selected by 27.4% of respondents. He is followed by:

  • Zoe Konstantopoulou: 9.6%
  • Nikos Androulakis: 7.1%
  • Kyriakos Velopoulos: 6.1%

All other political leaders trail with lower percentages. Notably, Konstantopoulou’s personal ratings have declined compared to the previous survey, though she retains second place in the prime minister preference question.

Public Opinion on Early Elections

On the question of early elections, a slight majority (49.3%) prefer completing the government’s full four-year term, while 44.6% are in favor of early elections. Among New Democracy voters, support for completing the term is overwhelming at 77.4%, followed by PASOK voters at 53.1%. Voters of all other parties mostly support early elections.

OPEKEPE Scandal: Public Holds Government Politically Responsible

Regarding the ongoing OPEKEPE subsidy scandal, 92.8% of respondents believe there is political responsibility on the part of the government.

When asked to assign blame:

  • 47.5% say all past governments that tolerated such practices are responsible.
  • 30% blame the current ND government.
  • 20.4% attribute it to systemic issues within the state apparatus.

Notably, among SYRIZA and Plefsi Eleftherias voters, a majority (55% and 53.8% respectively) place responsibility squarely on the ND government. Voters of ND (83.1%), PASOK (58.7%), KKE (61.8%), Hellenic Solution (59.2%), and NIKI (74.1%) tend to distribute the blame between systemic failures and all past administrations.

Public Supports Accountability Measures

  • 88.2% believe ministerial resignations were politically necessary.
  • 43.8% express satisfaction with the creation of a special investigative unit involving the Economic Police and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE).
  • 40.3% are satisfied with the government’s pledge to recover illegal subsidies.
  • 39.4% approve of OPEKEPE’s integration into the AADE for tighter oversight.
