The Legend of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world, weighing 250,000 tons, has taken to the water for the first time

Royal Caribbean’s new ship is nearly 370 metres long and entered the water at Meyer Turku in Finland on 29 August.

After taking 12 hours to fill the tank in which she was lying with water, four tugs pushed the huge cruise ship, which is bigger than the Titanic, to the outfitting dock for final touches before her official launch next summer.

Legend of the Seas features a record-breaking water park, 21 bars and 23 restaurants, Crown’s Edge, an attraction that’s half skywalk and half rope course, and a thrill ride perfect for adrenaline-seeking passengers.

Royal Caribbean promises that “families of all ages will be able to enjoy family time together in their own way.”
