Social media posts targeting Adonis Georgiadis prompted his reaction, with the Health Minister filing a lawsuit against some of them, leading to the arrest of a user under the name “Christos Sidiropoulos.”
“Using the image of the lynching of the Communist Finance Minister of Nepal, various accounts from the Far Left as well as the Far Right went wild,” Georgiadis wrote in his own post.
“I demand his exemplary punishment, not out of revenge, but because we must not allow violence and toxicity to prevail in our Society. Freedom of Speech is Non-Negotiable, but like every right, it comes with responsibility. The responsibility that all of us must know where the limits are—of our own Freedom, and of the Dignity and Freedom of others. Mr. Sidiropoulos and several others here, unfortunately, have forgotten these simple truths, and it’s time to re-establish the necessary boundaries,” added the Health Minister.
He further informed that “anyone who threatens my life and that of my family will face the consequences of the Law, and for threats against my life, I will also request the lifting of anonymity as permitted by Law. Criticism, as much as you like, but slander and threats stop here.”
According to reports, Adonis Georgiadis’ lawsuit was filed Thursday morning, with the Cybercrime Directorate taking over the investigation.
Police officials identified and confirmed a 52-year-old man from Imathia as the administrator of the account under investigation.
After a case file was drawn up against him for “Incitement to commit crimes, acts of violence, or discord on a continuing basis,” “Repeated Threats,” and “Repeated Insults,” police from Naousa located the 52-year-old at his workplace and arrested him in flagrante delicto.
According to the same reports, the 52-year-old admitted to police that he was the person behind the offending posts.

“This morning I woke up and saw several posts targeting me once again. Using the image of the lynching of the Communist Finance Minister of Nepal, various accounts from the Far Left as well as the Far Right went wild. But one man crossed all limits, a ‘gentleman’ named ‘Christos Sidiropoulos.’ I present to you some of his posts.
I filed a lawsuit against him, and as I was informed just now by the Cybercrime Unit, he was arrested and will appear before the Prosecutor tomorrow. I demand his exemplary punishment, not out of revenge, but because we must not allow violence and toxicity to prevail in our Society.
Freedom of Speech is Non-Negotiable, but like every right, it comes with responsibility. The responsibility that all of us must know where the limits are—of our own Freedom, and of the Dignity and Freedom of others. Mr. Sidiropoulos and several others here, unfortunately, have forgotten these simple truths, and it’s time to re-establish the necessary boundaries.
So I inform you that anyone who threatens my life and that of my family will face the consequences of the Law, and for threats against my life I will also request the lifting of anonymity as permitted by Law.
Criticism, as much as you like, but slander and threats stop here.
I inform you.”
