The meeting between Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is confirmed for Tuesday, September 23. According to government sources, it will take place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, most likely around midday New York time (evening in Greece).
It is recalled that Mitsotakis mentioned in his recent interview that there is an intention to meet Erdogan during the UN General Assembly in New York.
Speaking about Greek-Turkish relations, the Prime Minister reassured the Greek public that he sees no risk of a “hot incident” in the Aegean, while emphasizing that this does not allow for complacency.
“There is a willingness on both sides to find time, and I believe that since both sides want to meet, even if briefly, we will be able to find the time to hold the meeting,” Mitsotakis stated.
