According to police authorities, the 39 year old arrested with code name “Iasonas” was a close associate of N17 terrorist Christodoulos Xiros and member of terrorist organization “Pirines”.

He was arrested on Saturday morning, after his fingerprints and DNA was identified on bombs and organization hideouts.

At the same time, police has arrested a second man of 32 years of age, who allegedly is the man who handed to Xiro’s other associate Ageliki Spyropoulou, digital material (sd card) with letters and electronic security key (password), contact number, 6.000 euro, a GPS signal interference device (jammer)and finally  laser sights which were to be placed in the Kalashnikovs that were supposed to be used in the great escape in Korydallos prison.

All materials were supplied by the terrorist organization “Pirines”.

“Iasonas” is unemployed with a clean criminal record.

However he is considered to be one of the leading members Christodoulos Xiros group, as his DNA has been identified in various cases.

During the arrest “Iasonas” showed great resistance, refused to provide his ID and insulted the police officers.

Furthermore, 15 days ago, the police authorities discovered a stolen mitsubishi car which allegedly was to be used in the great escape in Korydallos prison, according to the police.

The car registration was previously found in Christodoulos Xiros hideout.

Police authorities have reasons to believe that the car was going to be used as a bomb in order to blow up Korydallos wall.

Under tight security, both arrested were transferred in the Court of Appeal where they received time to make their plea.
