The decision was issued by the Athens Single-Member Court of First Instance – Sixth consecutive day of delays at “Eleftherios Venizelos” Airport

Newsroom September 30 12:20

The Athens Single-Member Court of First Instance has declared illegal the participation of the Hellenic Air Traffic Controllers Association (EEEKE), OSYPA, and ENIMAEK in tomorrow’s 24-hour strike announced by ADEDY.

As a result, flights scheduled for Wednesday, October 1, 2025, will not be affected by the strike action.

Sixth Day of Flight Delays at Athens International Airport

For the sixth consecutive day, flight delays continue at Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos,” with the problem affecting arrivals more significantly than departures.

According to public broadcaster ERT, delays are reaching up to two hours, with no sign yet of the situation stabilizing. Passengers are advised to check with their airline for any changes to their flight schedule before heading to the airport.

Sources report that air traffic controllers are insisting on allowing only 28 safe flights per hour, instead of the usual 36.
