Pierre Moscovici’s spokeswoman on Tuesday Annika Breidthardt stressed that any discussions on details, conditions or other subsequent arrangements are premature, while she assured that “no talks for a third aid package to Greece have been made and the European Commission has focused on implementing what has been agreed with Greece”.
Regarding reforms that Greek FinMin Yanis Varoufakis is scheduled to announce at the Eurogroup next Monday, Breidthardt stressed that the Commission is in close contact with Greek authorities, with talks in Athens and agencies — and within this context the Commission stands ready to send additional experts to Athens if necessary.
Among others, she said that “following the Eurogroup’s decision, we will focus on specialization of the reform list which was submitted by Greek authorities, in order to reach an agreement with the institutions by the end of April”.
She substituted “institutions” for “troika”, which the new Greek government dislikes.
