An incident at the Attikon University Hospital in Haidari last Sunday night caused a stir when a 22-year-old patient suffered an allergic episode after being given a drug.
According to police, two nurses, aged 48 and 55, allegedly gave the girl an antibiotic she should not have received, causing her to have a severe allergic reaction. The incident occurred around 21:00 inside the hospital’s short-stay unit.
The two women were arrested at dawn Monday by SWAT officers for causing bodily harm by negligence, under Section 314 of the Criminal Code. The patient was ordered for a forensic examination to determine her state of health.
Upon completion of the procedure, the nurses were released on the order of the prosecutor, while the investigation continues to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.
