The weather turns sharply this week, with rain that will locally be intense, and also a sudden drop in temperature.
Today, in western Greece, rainy weather is expected, while local thunderstorms will also occur, according to ERT meteorologist Panagiotis Giannopoulos. Tomorrow, Tuesday, with the exception of the southeastern Aegean and the Dodecanese, the rest of the regions are expected to have rainy weather and local thunderstorms along the coastal areas.
On Wednesday, the northern winds in the Aegean will strengthen and the temperature will drop. It will still rain in central, southern mainland areas, the Cyclades, and Crete. On Thursday, the phenomena will be limited to the southern Aegean.
In Attica, few temporary clouds are expected today. Tomorrow, however, there will be rain, and after noon, a thunderstorm. Today the winds will be weak, while the temperature will range up to 22 degrees Celsius.
In Thessaloniki, scattered clouds are expected at night, while tomorrow, Tuesday, November 4, local rain will occur. Winds will be weak and the temperature will reach up to 21 degrees Celsius.
Marousakis Warning: Intense bad weather is coming Tuesday through Thursday
Meteorologist Klearchos Marousakis expects bad weather with rain and severe phenomena in the middle of the week.
As he explains, the weather will follow the “face” of November, bringing considerable rainfall and generally unstable conditions, mainly in eastern and northern Greece, where most of the phenomena will be concentrated.
A new low-pressure system will begin to approach the country, gradually causing much rain from the west and northwest, mainly from the Pindus mountain range and above.
The weather today
In Corfu, rain and possibly sporadic thunderstorms are expected. In the rest of the country, periods of increased cloudiness with local showers are expected. At midday, the phenomena in Corfu and Epirus will intensify, while from the afternoon the phenomena will intensify in the rest of the Ionian Islands and the western mainland. Thunderstorms will occur mainly in the Ionian Sea. In the morning, visibility in the mainland will be locally limited and fog will form.
Temperature will range:
- Western Macedonia: 3 to 20 degrees
- Rest of Macedonia and Thrace: 5 to 20–22
- Thessaly: 8 to 23–25
- Epirus: 8 to 21–23
- Other mainland areas: 9 to 23–25
- Ionian Islands: 14 to 20–22
- Aegean Islands and Crete: 14 to 24–26 degrees Celsius
Winds:
- In the Aegean: initially weak, but from noon south winds up to 4 Beaufort
- In the Ionian: southeast winds also up to 4 Beaufort
In the Attica region and the city of Athens, temporary clouds are expected with a small chance of brief showers. Early in the morning, visibility will be limited. Winds will blow from southern directions at 2–3 Beaufort. Temperature will range from 16 to 22–24 degrees.

Weather on Tuesday, November 4
Initially in the Ionian and mainland, quickly in the northern Aegean, and from early afternoon in the western parts of Crete and the Cyclades, increased cloudiness with local rain and sporadic thunderstorms. In the evening, phenomena in the west will weaken. In the rest of the areas, few clouds locally increasing.
Winds will initially blow from southern directions at 3–4 Beaufort, while from the morning in the north and gradually in the rest of the country they will turn to northern directions at 3–5 and locally in the north 6 Beaufort.
Temperature will show a small drop in the north, where it will not exceed 18–19 degrees Celsius. In the rest of the regions it will reach 21–23, and locally in Crete and the Dodecanese 24 degrees Celsius.
Weather on Wednesday, November 5
In the west, temporarily increased cloudiness with local rain, which will quickly stop in the north, while from noon in the south sporadic thunderstorms will occur. In the islands of the Eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese, few clouds temporarily increasing with local rain in the north in the morning. In the rest of the areas, increased cloudiness with rain and mainly over sea and coastal areas sporadic thunderstorms, which by late afternoon will be limited to the south.
Winds will blow north–northeast, in the west 3–5 Beaufort, in the east 4–6, and in the northern Aegean locally 7 Beaufort; only in the southeastern Aegean will they be variable and weak.
Temperature will show a slight drop mainly in the east.
Weather on Thursday, November 6
In the east and south, increased cloudiness with local rain, and in the Cyclades, Crete, and from the evening in the Dodecanese, sporadic thunderstorms. In the rest of the areas, few local clouds.
Winds will blow north–northeast, in the west 3–4 Beaufort, in the east 4–6, and temporarily in the morning in the northern Aegean locally 7 Beaufort.
Temperature will show a small further drop.
Weather on Friday, November 7
In the east, temporarily increased cloudiness with local rain, and in the southeastern Aegean until noon sporadic thunderstorms. In the west, almost clear weather with few temporary clouds. Morning and evening visibility mainly in the west will be locally limited, and fog will form in the mainland.
Winds in the west will be variable and weak, and in the east from northern directions 3–5 Beaufort, and in the Aegean temporarily in the morning locally up to 6 Beaufort.
Temperature will not show any significant change.
