Russian crypto millionaire killed in car crash – His Lamborghini burst into flames

Alexei Dolgikh, a 36-year-old Russian businessman known for his investments in cryptocurrencies, when the luxury Lamborghini Urus he was driving overturned and burst into flames in the early hours of Thursday morning in Moscow.

According to police, Dolgikh was driving at a speed of more than 150 km/h on the Russian capital’s international highway, with three friends with him. As cameras recorded, he lost control of the vehicle on a curve, hit guardrails and the car flipped over, immediately catching fire.

Passenger Ivan Solovyov was also killed in the crash, while two other people – 21-year-old Nikita Tezykov and 22-year-old Kiril Mokhalov – were taken to the Botkin Hospital with multiple fractures and serious injuries.

Footage from the scene shows the ultra-luxury SUV overturned and on fire, with rupee notes scattered on the roadway. Authorities believe that speeding is the main cause of the accident, while the prosecution has taken up a full investigation into the case.

Dolgikh, whose fortune is estimated in the millions of dollars, has been a concern for Russian authorities in the past, having been placed on the blacklist of banks on money laundering charges. In fact, according to Russian media, he had been registered 586 times for Motor Vehicle Code violations, mostly for speeding, since he bought the Lamborghini 15 months ago.

The same car was also linked to a shooting incident last September outside a luxury restaurant in Moscow, when a man using it drew a gun and fired in the air. Dolgikh had voluntarily presented himself to the police at the time, denying any involvement, and was not charged.

The 36-year-old is the second Russian crypto investor to die in tragic circumstances in recent weeks, which has caused a sensation in the Russian media.
