The municipality on the Spetses and the iconic Poseidonion Grand Hotel are revving up for the annual “Spring Rally PHILPA – Poseidonion”, a vintage car race in the otherwise mostly car-free Saronic isle from April 4-5.

Last year, the “race” saw the entry 61 antique cars dating from 1921 criss-cross the small, verdant isle, where only local residents are permitted to have private vehicles. More of the same is expected this year when the race kicks off at the Corinth Isthmus and runs to the upscale resort of Porto Heli. From there, the cars will be transferred to Spetses by ferry boat.

Glorious Rolls Royces, impressive Porsches, astonishing Jaguars, flashy Mercedes will then pass through the specially shaped arch of PHILPA making a grand entrance onto the island’s main square.
