Professor Georgios Tsoulfas, Director of the Transplant Surgery Clinic at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), has been elected as a Member of the Master Surgeon Educators Academy of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the world’s largest scientific and educational organization for surgeons.
The Academy selects its members through a rigorous evaluation process. This year, Professor Tsoulfas is among 103 new members inducted, representing the eighth cohort of elected members.
Professor Tsoulfas serves as Professor and Director of Transplant Surgery at the AUTH Medical School, as well as Director of the Research and Innovation Center for Solid Organ Transplantation.
He previously served as President of the International College of Surgeons and is currently President of the Hellenic Transplantation Society, a board member of the Hellenic Surgical Society, and Vice-Chair of the AUTH Medical School.
His research spans liver and biliary surgery, hepatic malignancies, ischemia/reperfusion injury, solid organ transplantation, medical education, and the application of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and 3D printing in surgery.
In 2024, he spearheaded the establishment of the Research and Innovation Center for Solid Organ Transplantation at Aristotle University, enhancing coordination of research activities, securing funding, and fostering international collaboration.
