Workers in public transport are taking part in strike action today, Saturday 28 February, marking the third anniversary of the Tempi tragedy.
Railways – Suburban Railway
No services will operate anywhere on the national rail network, including the Suburban Railway.
Fixed-track transport
Metro Lines 2 and 3 will operate from 9:00 a.m. throughout the day, including the regular late-night service on Saturday evening. Metro services to and from the Airport will also run normally from 9:00 a.m. onwards.
By order of the Hellenic Police (ELAS), the Metro stations Syntagma and Panepistimio will remain closed from the start of operations at 9:00 a.m., with trains passing through without stopping.
Metro Line 1 (ISAP) Kifisia – Piraeus will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Tram
Tram services will resume gradually from 9:30 a.m., with vehicles progressively withdrawn from service from 7:00 p.m. The late-night tram service on Saturday evening will not operate.

Buses – Trolleys
Buses and trolleybuses are expected to operate normally. However, some drivers may take part individually in the 24-hour strike called by the GSEE and the Athens Labour Centre.
Traffic adjustments are also expected on routes in the wider Athens city centre due to scheduled demonstrations.
