A fox that snuck into a British port and crossed the entire Atlantic Ocean has made its way to New York.
It is now at the Bronx Zoo in New York, where it is being cared for by the staff.
The animal is a male, approximately two years old and weighing five kilograms, according to the BBC.
It is not known how it managed to get onto the ship docked at Southampton, but it hid so well that customs only discovered it after it arrived in New York, handing it over to the zoo on February 19.
The fox appears to be in good health, and once it passes examinations and is declared healthy, staff will find a suitable environment for it to live.
A spokesperson for the Port of Southampton jokingly suggested that next time the fox should choose the Queen Mary 2 cruise ship, which also docks there and regularly sails to the U.S.
