At the imposing Duchess of Plaisance Mansion in Penteli, Brad Pitt continues shooting his new film.
The Hollywood star and the production of “The Riders” have visited many locations across Greece, most recently Menidi, where they worked in one of Athens’ oldest studios.
On the morning of Wednesday, March 18, the famous actor was recorded arriving at the Duchess of Plaisance Mansion, wearing the same outfit he has been seen in throughout this period, from Hydra to Chalkida, Kotzia Square, and Nea Makri: dark jeans and a blue sweater. As seen in the footage, Pitt got out of a black jeep and then headed inside the mansion.
According to information from Protothema, the mansion was chosen because its spaces—high-ceilinged halls and cellars—created exactly the setting the production was looking for. The crew had already been in the area since Tuesday night, working intensively.
The request to host the international production, which promotes Greece abroad, was approved by the Municipality of Penteli. For the next few days, the Duchess of Plaisance Mansion has made both its interior and exterior spaces available, transformed into a Hydriot-style aristocratic residence where, according to the script, the protagonist has taken refuge with the actress playing his daughter.
The Duchess of Plaisance Mansion, with its unique position in the landscape of Penteli and Athens, was granted to the Municipality of Penteli a year ago following the initiative of Mayor Natassa Kosmopoulou. This opened prospects for its promotion through modern and dynamic cultural activities, especially the Pentelic Mountain Festival. The municipal authorities will welcome the famous lead actor and the director on Thursday and present them with honorary plaques.
It is noted that the mansion, also known as the “Rododafni Castle,” has a strong historical and architectural identity. Its construction began in 1840 using Pentelic marble and is attributed to architect Stamatios Kleanthis, designed as the summer residence of the Duchess of Plaisance. The building stands out for its neo-Gothic character.

On Monday, March 16, the actor was in Menidi at one of Athens’ oldest studios. According to Protothema, preparations had been underway for about a week both inside and outside the studio, which has previously hosted well-known TV shows, series, and game shows.
Brad Pitt was at the studio filming a scene involving an artificial storm. Inside, a boat was mounted on a motion platform, while large amounts of water were sprayed under pressure to simulate rough seas.

Outside the studio, where production vehicles for actors and stunt performers were parked, there was intense activity. Members of the production and Pitt’s fans watched his movements, while local residents said they were unable to speak directly with the actor, interacting only with security staff, who appeared friendly.
Filming in Greece began on February 19 on Hydra, with the island transformed into a film set. There, several scenes involved extreme weather effects, using massive fans and special piping systems to recreate stormy winds and heavy rainfall.
