Thursday today, and the country continues to be affected by increased concentrations of African dust mainly in western Greece and the eastern and southern islands, according to meteorologist George Tsatrafillias. The phenomenon will begin to subside from Friday and mainly over the weekend.
At the same time, relatively good weather conditions both on land and at sea will prevail today, so the weather will not create a problem for those who will be on their way back from Easter.
In more detail, today we expect clouds in most areas, which at noon in northern Greece and the Peloponnese and gradually in the Cyclades and Crete will produce local mud showers.
The maximum temperature will reach 22 to 23 degrees in the mainland and Crete and 24 degrees in the Dodecanese.
Tonight, however, temperatures will not exceed 15 degrees Celsius in western Greece and 16 to 17 degrees Celsius on the Aegean islands.
Winds in the Ionian Sea will blow northwest up to 5 Beaufort and in the Aegean north and northeast up to 6 Beaufort.
In Attica until the evening, when it will start to rain a little, no rain is forecast. The winds will blow from northeast directions and will reach 6 Beaufort in the Euboeikos and 5 Beaufort in the Saronic Gulf. The temperature will range from 11 to 21 degrees.
On the contrary, local clouds are expected in Thessaloniki. Almost cloudless in Thermaikos, while the temperature will range from 10 to 22 degrees Celsius.
On Friday, the dust will begin to subside, while there will be several showers in the east and south. Temperatures will drop slightly.
Finally, on Saturday and Sunday, apart from a further temperature drop, there will be no lack of midday instability, especially in the mountains. But the atmosphere will be clearer of dust.
