The scandal was uncovered from a written response by the Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education, Mareike Lotte Wulf (CDU), to a question from AfD MP Sebastian Münzenmaier, which is available to Junge Freiheit.
Possible additional subsidies from the 16 federal states are not included.
“The Falcons” came into the spotlight due to a scandal uncovered by JF at the Schleife high school.
There, two organizers of the group distributed pornographic images of homosexual men and anti-AfD leaflets as part of an “action week.”
They also demanded children to use non-binary pronouns.
The youth organization defines its central goal as follows:
– “Education and Politics – Together for Socialism.”
– Children should “experience the contradictions of capitalist logic and simultaneously overcome them through socialist practice.”
– Ultimately, “a socialist society” is to be achieved.
The Ministry of Education, led by Green Party politician Lisa Paus since 2021 and by Karin Prien (CDU) since 2025, has paid and continues to pay the largest share directly to the Socialist Youth of Germany (SJD): €8,193,849.
This year alone, the amount will be €1,023,451.
The federal child and youth plan, under the Ministry of Education, contributed additional taxpayer funds of €94,640.09 from January 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023.
Additionally, the Federal Agency for Civic Education funded the Berlin branch of the SJD—where the project leaders in the Schleife case come from—with nearly €152,000.
For the project “IN*VISION 2021,” €80,838.50 was provided; for “Audream – we empower ourselves!” €50,890.53; and for “Audream – new connections” exactly €20,116.37.
Sebastian Münzenmaier, who submitted the inquiry to Prien’s ministry, said he was shocked by the scale of the funding:
“The federal government is pouring millions of euros of taxpayers’ money into a socialist group that organizes disturbing pornographic workshops in schools. This is simply abnormal.”
Speaking to JF, the AfD MP said regarding the current parliamentary session held on Thursday in the House of Representatives that the SPD, Greens, and the Left accepted this situation without any concern and defended “their friends with left-wing ideology in parliament.”
Münzenmaier also stated: “The CDU is happily going along with all of this.” In view of what he called a “comprehensive effort to reshape society,” including in schools, he called for the “immediate suspension of funding for the red Falcons and a thorough review of the activities (with suspension) of all left-wing NGOs.”
