U.S. Ambassador to Athens Kimberly Guilfoyle visited Tirana, where she met with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and attended the signing ceremony of a 20-year agreement for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States.
“I had the honor of traveling to Tirana to advance President Donald Trump’s energy agenda and to meet with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, in order to participate in the signing ceremony of a historic agreement between Albania, Venture Global, and Aktor LNG USA for a 20-year LNG supply contract from the United States,” she wrote in a post on X.
“This $6 billion commitment strengthens energy security—and national security—across the region.”
“We are proud to build on the excellent work of Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, and the National Energy Dominance Council,” she noted, concluding: “When the United States, Albania, and Greece work together, the region becomes more connected, more secure, and more prosperous.”
