At the same time, firefighting forces are heavily mobilised. Specifically, 110 firefighters with 25 vehicles, 4 ground teams from the 4th EMODE special forest operations unit, 9 aircraft, and 3 helicopters have been deployed, one of which is coordinating aerial operations.
Volunteers and municipal water tankers are also assisting.
According to the Fire Service, an Arson Investigation Unit from Fthiotida has been dispatched to the scene to investigate the causes, while throughout the incident the National Crisis Management Centre (ESKEDIK) has been receiving continuous live footage from a drone equipped with optical and thermal cameras.
