Greece strongly protests NATO’s post as ‘unacceptable’ regarding Turkish Army Day

The post in question is beyond inappropriate and unacceptable, the Greek Foreign Ministry said

Greece issued a strict protest to the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, after the post of the NATO Land Forces Headquarters, which is based in Izmir, regarding the day of the Turkish armed forces.

The announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

“Following the post of the NATO Land Forces Headquarters, which is based in Izmir, regarding the day of the Turkish Armed Forces, the Permanent Representative of Greece to NATO made a strict protest to the Secretary General of NATO, stressing that the post in question is beyond inappropriate and unacceptable.

At the same time, the Greek military authorities in NATO will make a similar protestation at the Supreme Headquarters of NATO (SHAPE), to which the Headquarters of the Ground Forces also belongs.

The oxymoron, of course, is that the LANDCMD is actually congratulating Turkey for its victory over Greece, another NATO member. The Turkish media exploited the post about the anniversary that was celebrated in a grand manner in the country, noting that this move disturbed Greece.
