Kyriakos Mitsotakis: Daily living at the forefront and European elections

The PM will lead New Democracy's campaign being its central figure - Initiatives in national interest with respective regions

Following the PM’s return from Ankara, the campaign for elections continue where he visited Evros and Rhodope. Mr. Mitsotakis aimed to highlight the government’s initiatives on major issues of daily living, health and citizen safety where proposals of national interest for the respective regions were discussed.

Highlighted was the construction of the new hospital in Komotini, with a capacity of 165 beds, the PM also went on to mention that hospital staff will be increased stating that the plan is to hire 200 workers. Moreover, Mr. Mitsotakis raised the hospital subject in response to President Erdoğan regarding the minority issues in Thrace stating, “when the issue of the Muslim minority and the topic of equality and equal citizenship were posed, I had the chance to remind the President of Turkey that Komotini’s hospital is being constructed to heal and facilitate both Christian and Muslim communities.”

Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized that legislative regional schemes proposed by Deputy Minister Konstantinos Kyranakis is to safeguard the broadcasting signal in Evros. The PM’s focus was on community interests with priority to health issues. Addressed were also the government’s mediation for wage stability amidst rising living costs. PM Mitsotakis went further to discuss his concerns about higher education and  ridiculed imitators of American university protests while expressed his argument towards the current chaos in universities. He gibbed those who mimic foreign unrest, affirming support for education over disruption.

Moreover, Mr. Mitsotakis will lead New Democracy’s campaign, being the central figure in the upcoming election ads and with a  vocal presence on social media. Additionally, increased will be mainstream media appearances with interviews scheduled on SKAI and ERT morning shows.
