Alternative Finance Minister Christos Staikouras said that there would be tax breaks and payments of arrears to uniformed staff

The final Greek budget draft is expected to be voted on by December. Alternate Finance Minister Christos Staikouras told Greek daily Real News that taxpayers should expect tax breaks. “Making as many tax cuts as possible is one of our main goals,” said Mr. Staikouras. “By December we will have a clearer picture of this years’ budget execution.”

Uniformed staff and judicial officers can expect to receive a payment of arrears in 36 monthly installments. In the interview, Mr. Staikouras said that the government is not discussing the easing of fiscal targets with troika officials from the European Commission (EC), the European Central Bank (ECB)and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
