Pepsico-Ivi's restructuring plans

Employees are worried about the future of the company and plans for outsourcing

Soft drinks manufacturer Pepsico-Ivi has failed to find a bottler on the Greek market to take on the exclusive rights of production and sale of its brand. It has already had talks with a few companies, all of them interested in acquiring certain brands but not in engaging in a franchising relationship with Pepsico.

Amongst those that have had talks with the soft drinks manufacturer are the Epirotic Bottling Industry, Vikos Water, EPSA and Loux Marlafekas.

On Friday, Pepsico-Ivi managers are meeting at the distribution plant in Thessaloniki with employee representatives to discuss the company’s intentions for the operation of the center in the framework of its plans for Greek restructuring.

The employees are worried that they may be left without jobs following the closure of the water bottling plant of Pepsico at Loutraki and following the negative developments for Coca Cola workers in Thessaloniki.

Sources state that Pepsico-Ivi is turning to outsourcing as a way of cutting costs.
