European countries are showing their solidarity with Greece in the efforts to fight the forest fires in Rhodes and Laconia. Teams from all over Europe are assisting in the battle against the fronts by reinforcing their Greek colleagues after the request submitted by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection to the European Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM).
Poland was added to those assisting Greece with air assets already operating on the fronts, and European countries are sending ground forces and fire engines. The Polish government responded to Greece as shown in the video obtained by protothema.gr, as it deployed the most numerous team of firefighters which consists of a large infantry section with 149 people, as well as 49 vehicles.
