Racing through the beauty of Naxos

Naxos hosts its 2nd Annual Mountain Bike Race on October 26

The Cycladic isle of Naxos is hosting its 2nd Annual Mountain Bike Race on October 26. The technically challenging 22-kilometer route takes cyclists of both genders through the island’s classic and Byzantine monuments as well as other island highlights. There is also a shorter 13.5-kilometer course for young adults. The race begins and ends at the traditional village of Sagri, listed as a protected settlement located 11 kilometers away from Naxos town.

The route travels through winding paths to rich mountainous terrains and green valleys. Sightseeing highlights include the 6th-century temple of Demetra and the 17th-century of Timios Stavros Monastery.

It will start at noon. The registration starts at 10 a.m. with registrations available here.
