Russia: Eleven dead after attack at school in Kazan (videos)

Two students were killed falling from the windows trying to escape

At least 11 people have been killed and four others injured in an attack on a school in the central Russian city of Kazan on Tuesday and according to Russian news agencies Interfax and Ria Novosti, the perpetrator is a teenager who has been arrested.

Citing a source, the Russian news agency Tass reported that there was a second perpetrator in the armed attack, who was neutralized.

According to emergency services, two students were killed falling from the windows of their classroom to escape.

The victims, according to Interfax, include at least eight students and a teacher.

The RIA reported that the gunman had been arrested and that an explosion had been heard at the school earlier.

Videos uploaded on social media show emergency service vehicles parked outside the school and people running towards the building.

Kazan is the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan and is located 700 km east of Moscow.
