SYRIZA leader Tsipras: “We should extend Greece’s territorial waters in the eastern Mediterranean”

Tsipras blasted the current PM on the PPC policy

Newsroom October 24 11:27

The Leader of Greece’s main opposition party SYRIZA Alexis Tsipras called for the country to extend its territorial waters in the eastern Mediterranean to show it can exercise its national Sovereignty.

In his closing remarks at the party’s 2-day Central Committee meeting on Sunday, he said: “We are calling for the extension of territorial waters in the Eastern Mediterranean”, speaking of “an unwavering message of exercise” of our sovereignty, simultaneously opening talks on the delimitation of the EEZ and the continental shelf, with all neighbouring countries in Eastern Mediterranean.

Commenting on domestic politics, Tsipras said: “The difficult thing will not be to win the elections. The difficult thing will be to manage the chaos that will be left behind by the ‘excellent’.

Tsipras presented a detailed report on the actions of his government in the sector of the economy, asking his executives to “raise the glove” in the public debate on the specific issues, at the same time accusing the government of trying to “overturn reality in a vulgar way” in the real economy.

The President of SYRIZA-PS focused on the performance of Greek bonds, saying that “there is no way we [Greece] can enter investment grade because the policy of Mr. Mitsotakis is a failed policy”. “What Samaras [previous ND PM] prepared was nothing” compared to the current government’s solution for PPC, commented Mr. Tsipras, who also called out the government for not allowing borrowers to repay their houses, which end up with large funds.
