Turkish aircraft violate Greek airspace 10 times, resulting in one dog fight with Greek fighter

The incident occurred on the day Greece welcomed its new Rafale jets

Turkish fighter jets committed ten violations of the Greek national airspace today, as the Hellenic Air Force was welcoming in an official ceremony the new state-of-the-art Rafale jets.

Ankara sent ten aircraft (nine F-16s and one ATR-72 anti-submarine) to the Northeast and Southeast Aegean , which also committed six traffic infringements of the Athens FIR.

During the violations, there was one instance of a dog fight between Greek aircraft and the Turkish aggressors, while three Turkish F-16s flew armed.

According to the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), the Turkish aircraft were identified and intercepted in accordance with international rules, in accordance with established practice.
