Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis met with IMF chief Christine Lagarde after his arrival in Brussels, where an extraordinary Eurogroup meeting takes place on Thursday evening.
Speaking afterwards, Lagarde said the Greek officials are “competent”, but said reaching an agreement would take time.
“They are competent, intelligent, they’ve thought about their issues. We have to listen to them. We are starting to work together and it is a process that is starting and is going to last a certain time,” Lagarde was quoted by Reuters as saying.
As per her talks with Varoufakis, she said we had a productive exchange of views.
