The new mayor of Marathon district Elias Psinakis accompanied by Spyros Livathinos, president of the municipal council of Marathon and former football player, met Deputy Minister of Sports Yannis Andrianos to discuss the possibility to establish Marathon Games.

The mayor presented a comprehensive list of the major events that he wants to host in the historic city, including the “Marathon Games”, according to information of protothema.gr, aiming to attract thousands of visitors and many investors in the region.

The first big event to be held at Marathon next spring is the Archery European Grand Prix which is held in Greece for the first time.
