While the refugees and immigrants who are staying at makeshift camps continue to refuse leaving Idomeni and Piraeus for other hosting facilities in several parts of the country, more difficulties have emerged regarding the implementation of EU-Turkey agreement which provides the readmission of immigrants to Turkey.

A spike in the number of asylum applicants on the Greek islands of Lesvos and Chios has been recorded over the last few days, probably after being urged and ‘guided’ to do so by dubious NGOs and activists.

The situation in the port of Piraeus has become intolerable, with the refugees and immigrants refusing to leave. Despite though their refusal, the Greek government aims to have them transferred to other hosting facilities until Easter holiday.

However, refugees and immigrants seem to trust the activists who have circulated a leaflet urging them to apply for asylum in Greece, refrain from returning to Turkey, and continue demanding to open the borders.
