A married man and his alleged mistress were last week bound to a tree naked and publicly shamed in China.
The couple were punished in the extreme manner after the man’s wife caught them cheating, according to Chinese media citing accounts from the locals.
Police claimed the incident was caused by ’emotional disputes’ and have launched an investigation.
The incident took place in the county of Huishui in southern China’s Guizhou Province last Wednesday, reported Chinese news outlet btime.com.
Footage filmed by an onlooker shows the pair who were not wearing any clothes tied to a tree side by side by ropes.
Dozens of passersby are seen gathering around the couple and police officers on site to control the crowd.
The video became viral after being uploaded onto the Chinese social media platform WeChat last Friday.
