“You are the first head of state to visit Greece in the post-coronavirus era,” Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said to the President of the Cyprus Republic Nicos Anastasiades during their meeting in Athens on Tuesday.

“Obviously our views are completely identical. Obviously we have a lot to discuss with respect to what is happening in the Eastern Mediterranean, the growing Turkish provocations and how we will coordinate, as always, our actions in this difficult climate, which has been further aggravated by Turkey’s provocative decision to convert Hagia Sophia from a museum into a mosque,” the Prime Minister underlined, and concluded: “So we have a full agenda ahead of us and I welcome you once again to the Maximos Mansion with feelings of love and cooperation, conveying the feelings of the Greek people.”

On his part, Anastasiades spoke of the excellent cooperation between Greece and Cyprus in addressing the challenges facing Europe, Cyprus and Greece. He stressed that the conditions that dictate his visit to Greece are even better coordination and an even more excellent cooperation.
