Albanian prosecutors’ absurd conclusion: Konstantinos Katsifas committed suicide!

Almost three years after Katsifas' murder, the Albanian authorities are mocking his family & the Ethnic Greek Minority with an unsubstantiated conclusion

Newsroom October 11 12:06

The conclusion of the Albanian prosecutors about the murder of Konstantinos Katsifas in October 28th 2018 by the Albanian Police Special Forces unit “Renea” is a shocking provocation.

According Albanian press reports citing information, the prosecutor’s investigation into the death of Konstantinos Katsifas has been completed after three whole years(!) and the conclusion is that Katsifas committed suicide!

Unofficial sources said that a hearing to end the investigation was held by a judge and the relatives of the victim were also present at this process, who asked to be informed about the investigative acts, i.e. the forensic examination and the ballistics of the weapon.

Albanian authorities, according to reports, claim that Konstantinos Katsifas, committed suicide with his weapon, while he was surrounded by Renea officers, on the mountain above Vouliarati.

According to the legislation, family members have the right to request a review of the allegations of the Prosecutor’s Office.

What makes this conclusion an absolute provocation, is the fact that Katsifas was shot twice and the deadly wound was on his chest. However, he had a rifle making it impossible to shot himself from such an angle.

Moreover, there had been numerous allegations from witnesses, that they were under enormous pressure by the investigating officers to sign a testimony already written by the police which included events that had never taken place and were incriminating for Katsifas.

Finally, if the case was so simple and it was indeed a suicide, then why did it take three years for the investigation to be completed?
