A woman who has turned 109 still eats a bacon sandwich for breakfast every morning.
Winifred Parker celebrated the milestone surrounded by five generations of her family at a care home in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, on Thursday.
Sally Connolly, the activities coordinator at Winnies Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) homes, revealed that the birthday girl follows a daily routine that could potentially be the secret to her old age.
Connolly said: “She just takes it in her stride, she puts her pearls on every day and gets dressed up.

“Winnie just loves life. She lies in till about 9.30am and then has a bacon sandwich every morning with a cup of tea.”
