A promising sign for women in the Middle East came a few days ago, with the announcement that Saudi Arabia will participate in the Miss Universe pageant for the first time.

27-year-old Rumy Alqahtani is the candidate who will make history, as she is the woman chosen by Saudi Arabia to make its debut in the international beauty competition.

Rumy Alqahtani is 27 years old and hails from Riyadh.

She works as a model and a digital content creator.

A few days ago, she was selected to represent her country in the beauty pageant – a moment of significant importance for women in Saudi Arabia.
