The municipality of Alimos is launching the “Open School Grounds” program in its schools during the afternoons, providing children with access to playgrounds and organised activities. Mayor Andreas Kondylis emphasised the collaboration with school authorities and parent associations, aiming to create open spaces for children’s recreation and community engagement.
Despite the proximity to the beach, the initiative responds to the demand for recreational areas and aims to reduce children’s screen time by offering fun activities. The program will operate daily on weekdays and will continue during the summer months, with plans for sustained accessibility through collaboration with parent associations.
