All the planning for the three-day celebration, the cost, and… friends from Sepolia.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is getting ready to walk down the aisle with his beloved Mariah. The Milwaukee Bucks superstar is already in the midst of preparations for his three-day wedding, which will take place at “Costa Navarino” in Pylos.
On August 30th, there will be a party with all guests wearing white suits prepared by haute couture master Georgios Papadogamvros.
On August 31st, there will be a Nigerian party with traditional attire, and on September 1st, the wedding will take place, with nearly the entire global sports jet set invited!
Aside from major coaches, Giannis’ former and current teammates, politicians, basketball officials, and dignitaries, some of the world’s top athletes – not just from basketball – are expected to receive invitations. The guest list includes, among many others, LeBron James, Serena Williams, and Kylian Mbappe.
The “Greek Freak” has been in Greece since the end of May to organize important details for both the ceremony and the grand party that will follow. He has requested the menu to feature fresh fish and seafood, select varieties of Messenian wine, and dishes based on pure virgin olive oil.
In addition to celebrities, Giannis has also invited his friends from his old neighborhood, Sepolia. Thus, it is estimated that around 400 guests will be at the Messenian resort. The total cost of accommodation is expected to be around 400,000 euros. The meticulously crafted menu will cost 250 euros per person, bringing the total cost to approximately 100,000 euros.
The decorations will cost 180,000 euros and will be refreshed daily. Guests will also have access to the resort’s cellar with its rare Greek wines. This will cost 85,000 euros. So, with a rough estimate and without yet knowing the exact number of guests, the “fairytale” wedding of the NBA star is expected to cost a total of 800,000 euros.
