Nikos Kouris and Elena Topalidou kept a low profile throughout their relationship. However, last December, on the day the actor and the dancer got married, cameras were present to capture their happy moments, with their son and close family in attendance.

“We’ve been together for 18 years, and nothing has changed,” Nikos Kouris declared in the summer of 2023, but shortly after the wedding, things seem to have shifted. He unfollowed his wife on social media, and the newspaper ON Time reports that the couple has been separated for five months.

Their romance began 18 years ago when Nikos Kouris starred in The Glass Menagerie at the historic Empros Theater, where Elena Topalidou was responsible for the artists’ movement direction. A strong bond grew between them. Though initially reserved, the couple began to express their love publicly in recent years. “I came to see my future husband. Nikos is amazing. I don’t know if love fades after marriage because we hadn’t married yet. We may not know why we marry, but that’s part of the intrigue,” the dancer said on Mega Kalimera, a month before their wedding, during the premiere of The Millionaire.

The Arrival of Their Son and Their “Unconventional Daily Life”

Their love brought them a son, Petros, now 20, who often accompanies his parents to various performances. Elena Topalidou described their daily life as OK! Magazine: “Our family life at home is happy, not compromised. Not at all. With rugs pulled back to rediscover things, with our son being very independent and emotionally intelligent, he helps the rest of the family.”

In another interview, Kouris said their marriage surprised many, adding that their relationship has been widely commented on. “We have many friends who don’t understand how we’re still in love. Approximately eight months after their wedding, Nikos Kouris unfollowed his wife on Instagram and deleted their photos together. On her side, however, Elena Topalidou has not removed the posts from their wedding day. The dancer still has her posts from December, with snapshots from the party and the love dedication to her husband and son.

Currently, Nikos Kouris’ social media profile mostly features photos related to his work, which may suggest he prefers to use social media solely for professional purposes.
