Weather: Cool with strong northern winds – Temperature rises tomorrow

According to Theodoros Kolydas, temperatures will return to normal for the season next week. The HNMS forecast extends until Thursday

Today, autumn-like temperatures and strong winds continue, with only a few scattered, localized showers expected until the next week, according to meteorologists.

However, after this cool autumn weekend, temperatures will begin to rise, gradually returning to seasonal norms, as noted by meteorologist Theodoros Kolydas in a post on “X” (formerly Twitter).

Today’s Weather

Clouds will increase at times in the western, central, eastern, and southern parts of the country. A few local showers will occur in Central and Northern Greece, Thessaly, Western Macedonia, and the southern Ionian islands, with a chance of isolated showers in the Dodecanese and the Peloponnese. Visibility will be limited during the night and early morning in the central and northern mainland.

Temperatures will range from 4 to 16°C in Western Macedonia, 3 to 18-20°C in the rest of Northern Greece, 9 to 19-21°C in Thessaly, 9 to 23°C in Epirus, 12 to 25-27°C in western and southern mainland areas, 9 to 21-23°C in the rest of the eastern mainland, 15 to 23-24°C in the Ionian islands, 13 to 21-23°C in the Aegean islands and Crete, and up to 25-26°C locally in the Dodecanese.

Northern and northeastern winds will blow in the Aegean, reaching 5 to 6 Beaufort at times. Southeast winds with intensities of 4-5 Beaufort will blow in the Ionian Sea. In the southwestern Aegean and southern Ionian, an easterly wind current will prevail, reaching 5-6 Beaufort.

Forecast for Tomorrow, Monday, 21-10-2024

In the eastern mainland from Thessaly southward, the Sporades, Evia, and Crete, temporarily increased cloud cover is expected. In the west, scattered clouds will be locally denser, while in the rest of the country, mostly clear weather is forecast.
Winds will blow from the east in the west, at 3 to 5 Beaufort, and from the north-northeast in the east at 4 to 6 Beaufort, reaching 7 and gradually 8 Beaufort in the Aegean.
Temperatures will rise slightly.

Forecast for Tuesday, 22-10-2024

In eastern Central Greece, the Sporades, Evia, and Crete, temporarily increased clouds are expected. In the rest of the country, mostly clear weather with scattered clouds in the west and north.
Winds in the west will initially blow from the east at 3 to 5 Beaufort, shifting to the north in the afternoon at 3 to 4 Beaufort. In the east, winds will blow from the north-northeast at 4 to 6 Beaufort, and locally reaching 7 to 8 Beaufort in the Aegean, with weakening at night.
Temperatures will rise slightly in the northeast.
