Two days after the budget was passed in parliament, Kyriakos Mitsotakis has invited New Democracy MPs who are not members of the government to the Maximo Mansion for a “relaxed wine” ahead of the holidays.

The MPs were welcomed in the large hall of the government headquarters, which is rarely opened for such occasions. Invitations were received by 111 deputies from the Maximou Mansion, while the practical arrangements were handled by Giorgos Mylonakis, the deputy minister to the prime minister, Giorgos Mylonakis, and Stavros Kalafatis, the secretary of the parliamentary group.

Mitsotakis begins a “marathon” to the elections with emphasis on the first miles – 50 candidates for the ballots to be announced soon

It is recalled that the event was originally scheduled on the occasion of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the New Democracy, but was postponed. That period was marked by the internal party tension, after the deletion of Antonis Samaras, however, everyone agrees that the tension that was building up has been eased. It was, after all, a high-risk move, but also a clear message from Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who did not want to perpetuate a government that was paralyzing the government’s work and undermining governmental cohesion.
