The declaratory act that the reasons for the recovery of the Greek nationality of the 10 members of the former Royal family have been met was signed by the Minister of Interior Thodoris Livanios.
The approval was given shortly after the request was filed at the Athens Registry Office, with members of the former royal family requesting the name “De Grece“. The application was immediately forwarded to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who was asked to examine whether the requirements of the law were met.
Now, the signed decision is expected to be officially published in the Government Gazette.
The ten members of the Greek royal family will then have to be registered in the Citizens’ Register, which will allow them to obtain a Greek identity card and Greek passport, as they have so far held Danish ones.
