The Rotherham case: The cover-up of 1400 child rapes by Pakistanis in Britain and the Musk-Starmer stand-off

Hundreds of children abused between 1997 and 2013 in the North of England - British authorities did not act for fear of being stigmatised as "anti-Islamic"

Newsroom January 7 09:00

A political earthquake has been brought to Great Britain by Elon Musk’s persistent attack on the British Prime Minister (but not only) regarding the scandal of rape and abuse of young girls in the North of England from 1997 to 2013.

Elon Musk’s persistent attacks, from the very first day of 2025, on Kire Starmer, his government and his hitherto friend and colleague Nigel Farage have brought political upheaval to Britain. The tech mogul and the world’s richest man has not hesitated to ask King Charles to take the initiative and to dissolve the parliament himself leading the country directly to elections on the grounds that those currently serving from 10 Downing Street are the orchestrators of a massive cover-up of what is indeed a huge scandal involving the rape and abuse of hundreds of children from 1997 to 2013 in the North of England and in particular in Rotherham in Greater Manchester.

But what has really happened in Rotherham?

The scandal to which Musk refers is real. An independent report that has documented more than 1400 cases of rape and abuse of minors – the majority of them children aged 11 or under – was published in 2014 and signed by Dr Alexis Jay, currently chair of the independent authority on child sexual abuse in the UK. In the 159-page report Alexis Jay documents with evidence the confirmed cases of 1400 children who between 1997 and 2013 were raped – gang raped many times – trafficked, abused and some even murdered by gangs in the North of England. The absolutely shocking findings of the investigation highlight that in most cases members of the gangs that exploited these minor victims in the most extreme ways were of Pakistani origin.

The inquiry records a systematic attempt to cover up this particular scandal which the British professor describes as an “epidemic” by both the police authorities and the judiciary. In the report, Alexis Jay also sets out a series of measures that, if implemented, will bring immediate results and provide answers – and not, as she stresses, vindication or justice – to those victims who have survived.

The scandal, like its counterpart in the systematic rape of children by Catholic priests, surfaced in 2012 following an investigation by the Times who published a detailed 2010 police report which spoke of thousands of allegations of child sexual abuse in South Yorkshire on an annual basis. It is this publication and the general outcry for local and police authorities alike that will bring the Alexis Jay inquiry from Rotherham City Council.

Jay’s report will bring the immediate resignation of both City Council President Roger Stone and the area’s police chief Shaun Wright.

How is Kir Starmer involved in the case and the Musk shooting?

Kir Starmer from 2008 until 2013 was the chief prosecutor in the UK. Elon Musk puts him in the frame for those five years as, according to the world’s richest man, the current Prime Minister knew but chose to “cover-up” the thousands of cases.

The truth of course is that Kir Starmer is the main reason why submissions of sexual abuse in Britain have been reopened while it is also true that leaving office to actively engage in politics has left a record of tens of thousands of such cases having been investigated to the highest degree.

The British government’s red line

Yesterday, after six days of concerted attacks on him, Kir Starmer chose to break his silence and speak of extremes that neither he nor his country will tolerate. The reason is that Elon Musk did not hesitate, after receiving any response from the British Prime Minister himself, to target Jess Phillips, the Deputy Prime Minister responsible for sexual abuse, family and protection issues. The reason is none other than that the minister refused to approve a request for a comprehensive investigation into the North of England scandal by referring it to the local City Council which is under British law responsible for such a move.

Musk pointed out through his proprietary platform that the minister should already be in jail and added more fuel to the fire with Kir Starmer publicly responding that he has already crossed his red lines. It should be pointed out that a similar request was made before by victims’ families in 2022 and the response they had received from the Conservative government – which has been running the country for the last 14 years – was exactly the same…

What has happened since the scandal was uncovered?

The truth is that there have been very few trials and convictions compared to the thousands of allegations. Despite this, in 2014 the Linden Inquiry – Operation Linden investigated how South Yorkshire Police handled the complaints. Specifically, 91 investigations containing 265 allegations from 51 individuals were opened and scrutinised in detail. The conclusion of this investigation revealed that a total of 47 police officers were involved of which 14 were ultimately charged. None of the police officers were brought to justice and the police authorities and the ministry say they were dismissed from the force.

Along with the above operation, a special team of 200 special police officers launched Operation Stovewood to ensure that apart from intentions, justice is finally served. Through the evidence of the investigation from 1997 to 2013 more than 150 arrests were made which eventually led to 20 convictions with sentences of over 100 years in prison but understandably none of the above is enough to provide answers to the families and survivors of the drama of rape and systematic abuse in the North of England.

Why didn’t the British authorities act?

Based on the evidence and the findings of all independent investigations to date, the British authorities chose this route fearing stigmatization as “anti-Islamic“. It may seem extreme today but it is described in all official documents, reports, and findings as the main reason for the failure to act in the face of a scandalous and unprecedented drama.

The extreme Tommy Robinson who replaced “light” Faraj in the “heart” of Musk

Elon Musk met in the US some time ago with the head of the far-right Reform Najel Farage and the man who inspired Brexit, demanded and achieved its implementation by the British government has returned calling Musk a “genius”. The truth is Farage had 100 million reasons to do so as he had in his baggage the pledge from Musk that Reform would be the most financially empowered party in the next British election… Farage denied that he had accepted a financial offer from Musk but made it clear that he was the mogul’s chosen one on the island… Elon Musk’s choice to bring to the fore in the wake of the Rotherham scandal the most nationalistically extreme on the island, Tommy Robinson, has put Farage himself in an extremely awkward position… The Reform leader refused to follow Musk’s admonitions to push for Tommy Robinson’s release and was suddenly made “light” and unfit for President by the man who “confused” the concept of sponsorship with officialdom…

But who is Tommy Robinson?

Tommy Robinson which is a nickname is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon 42 years old who is currently serving an 18-month jail sentence for contempt of the British courts. Robinson had in 2018 posted a video on his social media showing a 15-year-old Syrian boy being violently assaulted by a peer at school. Robinson claimed that the young Syrian had abused young girls and that the bully who mercilessly beat him was defending them. The video went viral on far-right sites with more than 1 million views and death threats against the young boy and his family brought court intervention.

Robinson was arrested and it turned out that what he was saying was a lie. He was sentenced to pay £100,000 to the family for libel in 2021. In the judgment, there was an explicit condition that Robinson not repeat those allegations. In February 2023, Robinson began publishing a documentary of his own making to take a fresh swipe at minorities. The documentary, titled “Silenced,” was publicly screened in Trafalgar Square in July 2024. A complaint was filed against him and he admitted to violating the restraining order imposed on him in 2021 and was convicted. His documentary remains online on Musk’s X and currently has more than 146 million views. But the most disturbing thing about Robinson is that he is the “father” of anti-slavery in Britain, founding the English Defence League in 2009.

The father of the Defence League in 2009 when he founded the Defence League in 2009.
