Argentina’s liberal president, Javier Milei, today took advantage of the occasion of a ceremony marking the liberation of Auschwitz to defend American tycoon Elon Musk, who made a controversial gesture, slamming those on the left “who hurl Nazi accusations” at anyone who thinks otherwise.
“Let us beware of those who hurl, in a banal manner, accusations of Nazism at anyone who does not agree with their way of thinking, as left-wing opinion leaders did with my friend Elon Musk, who is an impeccable defender of the State of Israel,” Javier Milei said.
“This should not surprise us, because these false accusations come from the same people who defend Hamas terrorists and rant against the State of Israel,” the Argentine head of state added, during a speech delivered at the Holocaust Museum in Buenos Aires, in the presence of representatives of Argentina’s Jewish community, the largest in Latin America, and survivors of the concentration camps.
At the Davos Forum in Switzerland, Javier Milei had already defended Musk last Thursday, who, according to him, “is unfairly vilified by wokism (…) for an innocent gesture that only shows (…) his gratitude to the people.”
Today, the Argentine president expressed the assessment that the world is “experiencing a situation that bears similarities” to the phase that preceded the Holocaust. And, it shows, with every attack against Israel, anti-Semitism and hatred of Western civilization are more relevant than ever.”
