“All of Greece and Europe are talking about him; no words are enough. He was a beloved brother. We talked, he advised me because he was older, and I listened to him,” said Mimis Domazos’ brother, Thanasis, adding that such figures remain immortal.



With great emotion, relatives, friends, fellow athletes, and ordinary people have been coming to the Metropolis of Athens this morning to say goodbye to Mimi Domazos.
“He is one of the holy monsters of football along with Pele, Kroif, and Maradona”, “he was a gentleman with everything on the pitch, he inspired respect”, “he will remain immortal”, “our general went to Wembley, no one else has been like him” were some of the things ordinary fans said about Mimi Domazo
Speaking on behalf of the family were the grandchildren of Mimi Domazos and Vicki Moscholiou, Stelios and Vicki, who expressed their thanks “for the love they show us. They give us strength, it is a touching day for all of us”. As they said of Mimi Domazo “he was a very good grandfather. Together with grandmother (Vicky Moscholiou) they were excellent at what they did. We saw them as family, and we wish them well where they are.”
The funeral service will begin at 3 pm while Panathinaikos FC owner Fotis Ioannidis and Giannis Alafouzos, the owner of Panathinaikos FC, Giannis Alafouzos will reportedly deliver epitaphs from the new generation of Panathinaikos, On behalf of Antonis Antoniadis, who is ill, either Vassilis Konstantinou or Nikos Karoulias will speak, while Mimis Domazos’ third daughter, Popi, who he had with his second wife, Io, will also say her farewell.
The touching last stop on the Avenue
Earlier, shortly before 8:30 a.m., the body of Mimi Domazos, draped with the flag of Panathinaikos, arrived at the Avenue.
There, in front of Gate 3, he was greeted by his daughter, Popi, and several football fans, while the anthem of the “Trifilio” was playing from the loudspeakers.
“It is very, very difficult. My father is here, we thank the whole world, all of Greece is mourning, my father is here,” said Poppi Domazou, who chanted “my dad” as Mimi Domazou’s body arrived on the Avenue.

The special farewell to Mimi Domazos by Stamatis’ grandson was also touching, who left a black shirt with the message “eternally loyal” on which he spray-painted “One life Panathinaikos, the grandfather I will love you forever”
Present at the popular pilgrimage was also the president of the Electoral Platform for Freedom, Zoe Konstantopoulou.
