Turkey conducted a new test of the Tayfun ballistic missile, which belongs to the Short Range Missile category, today.
The missile was launched from the Rize air base towards the Black Sea under very tight security measures, with Turkish authorities describing the process as “successful.”
This was Tayfun’s third test launch, and the scenario executed and the distance covered was not revealed.
Tayfun is believed to be one of Turkey’s longest-range ballistic missiles to date, although its official specifications remain classified.
Following the previous successful tests of the missile, the CEO of Roketsan, the company responsible for its development, confirmed that Tayfun has entered the serial production process to be followed by its active deployment to the Turkish military.
